KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rainfall in Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces due to the active monsoon.

The monsoon trough is currently positioned near the southern plains of Nepal, intensifying rainfall in the region.

Koshi and Sudurpaschim may experience heavy rain at isolated places, while Lumbini and Karnali provinces could see moderate showers.

Other areas are expected to have light to moderate rainfall with generally cloudy skies.

Tonight, Koshi and Madhesh provinces are likely to witness moderate rain in some areas, with chances of heavy rain at one or two locations.

The weather office has warned that rainfall could disrupt daily life, health services, road transport, and air travel. The public is advised to take necessary precautions.
