KATHMANDU: Extremely heavy rainfall has been recorded across various districts of the Madhesh Province, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
As per the department’s real-time, unprocessed rainfall data collected from measurement centers over the past 24 hours (until 5:30 PM on Saturday), the highest rainfall was recorded in Maheshpur, Rautahat, at 295 millimeters.
Similarly, Gaur in Rautahat recorded 263 mm, Birgunj in Parsa measured 258 mm, Gauridaha in Rautahat recorded 243 mm, Kalaiya in Bara reported 236 mm, Rangpur in Parsa logged 200 mm, and Parwanipur in Bara measured 191 mm of rainfall.
Likewise, Simara recorded 173 mm, Nijgadh saw 171 mm, and Gaushala in Mahottari recorded 133 mm of rainfall.
The department said rainfall is still continuing in several parts of the Madhesh region as of Saturday evening.
