Moderate to heavy rain forecast in some provinces today

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the monsoon’s low-pressure line is currently located over Nepal’s Tarai, north of its average position.

While monsoon conditions persist nationwide, the influence of moisture-laden winds appears slightly weaker.

According to the division, skies are generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while other regions are partly cloudy.

Moderate rainfall is occurring at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. For this afternoon, skies across the country are expected to remain generally cloudy.

Heavy rain is likely at one or two places in the Tarai of Lumbini Province as well as the hilly areas of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Moderate rain is also expected in many hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, in some locations of Madhes Province, and in a few Tarai regions elsewhere.

Tonight, conditions will remain generally cloudy nationwide. Moderate rainfall is likely in some hilly areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few hilly and Tarai locations in other provinces.

Heavy rainfall is also possible at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. The division has advised the public to stay updated on the latest weather bulletins and take necessary precautions as the monsoon season continues.
