KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has stated that the entire country is currently under the influence of the monsoon system. The monsoon trough is positioned near its average location.

According to the Division, the hilly regions of Bagmati Province and other parts of the country are generally cloudy, while the Terai regions remain partly cloudy.

Moderate rainfall is occurring at a few locations in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, as well as at isolated places in the hilly regions of other provinces including Madhesh.

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while the Terai regions will see partial cloud cover.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of Sudurpaschim Province and a few Terai locations in Lumbini Province, as well as isolated areas of the Terai in Madhesh Province.

Likewise, a few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces may witness heavy rainfall.

Tonight, general cloudiness is expected in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, with partial cloudiness in the Terai.

There is a chance of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at a few locations in the hilly regions of Madhesh and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and isolated places in the Terai as well.
