KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the influence of westerly winds persists in the western parts of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in some western areas of Gandaki Province.

Meanwhile, the effects of monsoon and local winds have weakened across the rest of the country.

This afternoon, partial cloud cover is expected over Koshi and Gandaki provinces and other hilly regions, while the rest of the country will experience mostly clear weather.

Light rain is likely at one or two places in Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

According to the department, tonight will also see partial cloudiness over the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, with mainly clear skies elsewhere.

There remains a chance of light rain at one or two locations in the hilly parts of both provinces.
