KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall since last night has led to extremely heavy downpours in three Madhes districts—Bara, Parsa, and Rautahat.

In the past 12 hours, more than 200 millimeters of rainfall has been recorded in Kalaiya, Birgunj, and Gaur.

Rautahat’s Gaur witnessed the heaviest downpour, with 212 millimeters recorded, followed by 203 millimeters in Bara’s Kalaiya and 200 millimeters in Birgunj.

Similarly, Maheshpur in Rautahat recorded 205 millimeters of rainfall.

In just the past six hours, Gaur alone saw 159 millimeters of rainfall, while Birgunj recorded 136 millimeters and Kalaiya 149 millimeters within the same period.
