KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the partial influence of a western low-pressure system continues to affect Nepal’s western region.

According to the latest weather forecast, light rain and snowfall are likely this afternoon in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

The department said that while these regions may experience light precipitation, the weather across most other areas will remain generally clear.

This evening, the hilly parts of Koshi and Gandaki provinces are expected to remain partly cloudy, whereas the rest of the country will see mainly fair weather.

Due to the continued impact of the western disturbance, partial cloudiness is observed in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while other areas are experiencing mostly clear skies.

Meteorologists have urged people living in high-altitude regions to take precautions as light snowfall may affect transportation and daily life in some mountain areas.
