KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that the current weather across Nepal is being influenced by western winds and a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea.

According to the Division, the country is generally cloudy at present, with light rainfall occurring in some parts of Gandaki and Bagmati provinces.

This afternoon, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with other hilly regions, are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the Terai region will experience partial cloud cover.

Similarly, there is a chance of moderate rainfall with snowfall in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as in a few hilly and mountainous areas of the remaining provinces.

In some higher hilly and mountainous parts of Gandaki Province, heavy rainfall accompanied by snowfall is also likely.

Tonight, the weather in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, along with other hilly regions, will remain generally cloudy, while the Terai will experience partial clouds.

There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall in a few hilly and mountainous locations of these provinces, and isolated heavy snowfall in some high-altitude areas of Gandaki Province.

The Division has urged the public to take necessary precautions, as heavy rain and snowfall in parts of Gandaki Province could affect daily life, mountaineering, agriculture, and tourism activities.
