KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall is occurring across various parts of the country, particularly from Madhes to Karnali Province.
According to meteorologists, the rainfall trend is expected to continue at least until October 6.Currently, the showers are the result of moist monsoon winds entering Nepal from the Bay of Bengal.
Clouds moving in from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in India have also contributed to the ongoing precipitation.
Weather experts have further indicated that another weather system is approaching Nepal, which may bring heavy rainfall in some areas.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, heavy rainfall is likely today in some hilly and Terai areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, and in a few locations of Lumbini Province.
Additionally, very heavy rainfall is forecast in some hilly and Terai regions of Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
The department also warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall tonight in parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki, along with a few Terai areas of Lumbini Province.
The rain-bearing clouds currently stretch from the eastern part of Lumbini to Koshi Province, with the heaviest concentration over Nepal’s southern belt.
Moderate rainfall is expected to continue particularly in areas from Hetauda to Lalitpur and surrounding regions.
