KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing the effects of westerly and local winds, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division.
Additionally, there is a partial influence of moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
According to the Division, the weather is currently partly to mostly cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and partly cloudy in the hilly regions.
The rest of the country is mainly clear to partly cloudy. Light rain accompanied by lightning is occurring at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
By this afternoon, the hilly regions across the country are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, while other areas will see mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.
There is a chance of light to moderate rain with lightning at a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and at isolated locations in other hilly regions.
Light snowfall is also possible at one or two spots in the high hills and mountainous areas.
