KATHMANDU: Although the impact of Cyclone Montha—formed over the Bay of Bengal—has weakened, Nepal’s weather continues to be affected by western winds and a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the system that was centered around Chhattisgarh, India, has now reduced to a low-pressure zone but still influences Nepal’s weather patterns.
Currently, Koshi Province is experiencing overcast skies, while most other regions have generally to mostly cloudy conditions.
Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
During the day, skies in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati Provinces will remain generally cloudy, while other areas will see partial cloudiness.
There is a likelihood of moderate rainfall in a few areas of Koshi Province, as well as in some hilly regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
Similarly, light snowfall is expected in a few high hilly and mountainous parts of Koshi Province, and in one or two high-altitude locations of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
At night, Koshi and Madhesh Provinces will experience mostly cloudy conditions, while other provinces will remain partly cloudy.
Light rain with snowfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
