Biplavlal Shrestha, a karate player of Nepal, has been defeated in the 19th Asian Games (Asiad) held in Hangzhou, China.

He lost to Saudi Arabia’s Tareg Hamid 9-1 in the men’s Kumute 84kg Biplav bronze medal match on Friday.

Biplav defeated Tajikistan’s Umed Safarov 12-4 in the first match. In the quarterfinals, he was defeated by Sadikanov Adilet of Kyrgyzstan 5-1.

Similarly, Nirupa Tamang Dong was defeated in the last 16 in the women’s under 61 kg competition in Kumute. She lost 5-1 to Humira Akhtar Antara of Bangladesh.
