KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML) has decided to break its coalition with the Nepali Congress in Bagmati Province and withdraw from the provincial government.
Following directives from party leadership, six UML ministers—led by Parliamentary Party Leader Jagannath Thapalia—are preparing to submit their collective resignations to Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya in Hetauda on Wednesday.
The exiting ministers include Madhusudan Paudel, Bindu Shrestha, Dr. Dinesh Chandra Devkota, Jairam Thapa, Kiran Thapa Magar, and Bharat Bahadur KC.
Meanwhile, the Bagmati provincial government plans to restructure and reduce its executive ministries down to eight.
