DHANGADHI: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly rape in Dhangadhi, Kailali.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening when an 18-year-old youth from the Punaro Bhansar area of Dhangadhi allegedly raped the girl, as reported by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kabindra Singh Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office.

The girl, who is from Bajura, had been living with a relative in Dhangadhi to continue her studies.

On her way home from school, the man obstructed her path and dragged her to his house while threatening her with a knife, according to the police.

The man fled after the incident, and the police are actively searching for him.

The victim reported the harassment to the authorities on Saturday, after her relatives were informed about the incident.

DSP Bohara added that the police were made aware of the situation once the girl’s relatives were notified. The girl is currently studying in Grade 7 at a school in Dhangadhi.
