KATHMANDU: The Cabinet has decided to restore the provision allowing Members of Parliament (MPs) to appoint personal secretaries, reversing a decision made by the interim government formed after the Gen Z protest.
The decision was taken during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting by amending the schedule of the Remuneration and Facilities of Office-Bearers and Members of the Federal Parliament Act, 2016, Law Minister Sobita Gautam said.
Under the restored arrangement, each MP will be able to appoint a personal secretary with benefits equivalent to those of a Section Officer.
