KATHMANDU: A 29-year-old man was shot dead in Rupandehi on Saturday morning, police confirmed.

According to the District Police Office, Rupandehi, the victim, identified as Rakesh Singh Lodh, was found dead with gunshot wounds at his residence in Mayadevi Rural Municipality-2.

DSP Suraj Karki, the police spokesperson, stated that Lodh was discovered lying in a pool of blood on his veranda. “He lived alone as his brothers had already separated. There is a head injury, and it appears he was shot. However, we are still investigating, and further details cannot be disclosed at this stage,” DSP Karki told Nepal News.

Following the incident, Lodh’s brother has gone missing, and police have launched a search operation to locate him. An investigation into the case is ongoing.
