KATHMANDU: The Kapilvastu District Court has issued an arrest warrant against Nepali Congress MP Abhishek Pratap Shah (elected from Kapilvastu-3) following an attempted murder complaint filed by Sitaram Sharma, President of the Krishnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Sharma accused MP Shah, Krishnanagar Mayor Rajat Pratap Shah, and a group of 15 to 20 individuals of forcibly entering his residence and brutally assaulting him.
While Kapilvastu Police have launched a search for Shah, treating him as a fugitive, the lawmaker took to social media to deny the allegations.
Shah claimed the warrant is a fabricated conspiracy and a “political vendetta” stemming from rival’s malice and electoral defeat, though he maintained he would fully cooperate with the legal process to clear his name.
