Police arrested two persons in possession of four kilogrammes of marijuana in Pokhara Metropolitan City-5 of Kaski district, on Saturday.

The arrestees have been identified as Arjun Gharti(22) of Bijayanagar Rural Municipality-1 in Kapilvastu and Safal Dhakal(22) of Putalibazar Municipality-14 in Syangja. Both of them had been living in Bagar in Pokhara-1, police informed.

A team of police personnel deployed from Baidam-based Ward Police Office found the illegal drugs in their possession while conducting a security check yesterday, police informed. 

Meanwhile, two youths were also arrested in possession of 7.49-gram brown heroin in Tumanadi, Bhimdatta Municipality-9 of Kanchanpur district on Saturday evening. 

Police identified the arrestees as Binod Chand(35) of Sukasal and Suwas Luhar(24), the residents of Bhimdatta’s ward no. 10 and 5 respectively.  

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of security personnel deployed from Kanchanpur District Police Office (DPO) and Brahmadev-based Border Police Post seized brown heroin from their possession. The illegal drug had been packed in a plastic bag.

Meanwhile, investigations into both cases are underway, said police.
