KATHMANDU; Nepal Rastra Bank has released the foreign exchange rates for today (Wednesday), showing a mix of increases and decreases across various currencies.
The US dollar, euro, pound sterling, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar have slightly weakened, while the Australian dollar has shown an uptick in value.
As of today, the buying rate for 1 US dollar is NPR 136.94 and the selling rate is NPR 137.54. This marks a minor rise after three consecutive days of stability.
Yesterday, the rates were NPR 137.37 for buying and NPR 137.97 for selling. The highest recorded value of the dollar so far was on Magh 25, when the buying rate hit NPR 139.83 and the selling rate stood at NPR 140.43.
Meanwhile, the euro is being exchanged at NPR 155.06 (buying) and NPR 155.74 (selling), down from NPR 156.46 and NPR 157.14 the previous day.
The British pound is also slightly down, trading at NPR 181.12 for buying and NPR 181.91 for selling, compared to NPR 181.27 and NPR 182.07 yesterday.
On the other hand, the Australian dollar has appreciated, with the buying rate at NPR 87.09 and the selling rate at NPR 87.47, rising from yesterday’s NPR 86.87 and NPR 87.25.
The Kuwaiti dinar is now at NPR 446.36 (buying) and NPR 448.32 (selling), showing a slight dip from Tuesday’s NPR 447.93 and NPR 449.89.
The Bahraini dinar also declined slightly, with the buying rate at NPR 363.29 and the selling rate at NPR 364.88, down from NPR 364.43 and NPR 366.02 recorded the previous day. These fluctuations reflect ongoing changes in global currency markets monitored by the central bank.
