NARAYANGHAT: The East-West Highway has been obstructed at Dumkibas along the Narayanghat–Butwal road section after a diversion was swept away.

According to the District Police Office, the diversion was completely washed away by a flash flood in the Binayi River on Friday morning, leading to a full blockage of the highway.

Madhav Nepal, the information officer at the office, said that after the original bridge over the Binayi River collapsed, a temporary diversion had been built to allow vehicle movement.

However, that diversion was also swept away by the floodwaters, causing heavy vehicles and cargo trucks to be halted in the Hongsi Gate and Arun Khola areas.
