KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently experiencing the effects of westerly and local winds.

Additionally, moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea is also influencing the country’s weather.

At present, most parts of the country are partly to generally cloudy. Light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in a few areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, skies across the country are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy.

There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in parts of Koshi Province and other hilly regions, while a few places in other areas may also receive light rain. The higher elevations of the Himalayas could see light snowfall as well.

By tonight, the weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country will likely remain mostly clear to partly cloudy.
