New Zealand Deputy PM Peters arrives in Kathmandu for historic visit

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, Winston Peters has arrived in Kathmandu this afternoon for a two-day official visit to Nepal.

During his stay, Deputy Prime Minister Peters will separately pay courtesy calls on President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli later today, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This evening, he is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, followed by a joint press conference.In his honor, Foreign Minister Rana will host a dinner after the meeting.

This marks the first-ever official visit to Nepal by a New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, highlighting growing diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
