MORANG: Due to incessant rainfall, the Bhedetar-Mulghat section of the Koshi Highway has been completely blocked.
The road has collapsed at two separate points along the highway. According to police, at around 5:30 AM on Saturday, flooding in the Leuti River at Fedi washed away approximately 100 meters of the road, leading to a complete obstruction from both directions.
A police team has already been deployed from the Mulghat Police Post, and efforts are underway to reopen the road in coordination with the concerned authorities.
Similarly, the road has also been blocked near Namaste Waterfall due to a fallen tree and a landslide from above.
Following the incidents, a team of 10 personnel from the Nepal Police and Nepali Army, led by Sub-Inspector Ramesh Pradhan from the Area Police Office Bhedetar, has been mobilized to the site.
Police report that immediate efforts are being made to clear the road at both locations, but continuous rainfall has posed significant challenges.
As a result of the road damage at both sites, vehicles traveling from Koshi hills to Kathmandu and Terai, and vice versa, have been stranded on the way.
