KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-Nepal) Chair Kamal Thapa, RPP Member of Parliament Deepak Singh, and five others who were taken into police custody on Sunday afternoon have been released.

According to the District Police Office, Kathmandu, seven out of the eight individuals detained have been released on personal guarantee.

However, one person remains in custody. Kamal Thapa was arrested from Narayanchaur while leading a royalist demonstration demanding the reinstatement of Nepal as a Hindu kingdom.

Deepak Singh, on the other hand, was taken into custody from the premises of the Kathmandu District Police Range in Bhadrakali while he had gone there to visit Thapa following his arrest.
