DOTI: Two people died on the spot and four others sustained injuries when a jeep met with an accident in Ward No. 1 of Adarsha Rural Municipality, on Friday afternoon.

According to the District Police Office, Doti, the jeep (Su Pra 01-001 Cha 1395) was heading from Adarsha to Mellekh when it veered off an inner road and fell some 250 meters down a slope.

Police Inspector Ram Chandra Joshi confirmed that the identities of the deceased have not yet been determined.

The four injured have been rescued and taken to Mellekh Health Post for treatment. The exact number of passengers aboard the vehicle remains unknown.

A police team led by Inspector Rajendra Bahadur Chand has been deployed to the site, and rescue operations are ongoing.
