KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force (APF) has apprehended two individuals with 47 grams and 9 milligrams of brown sugar from a hotel near the gate of Tribhuvan International Airport.

According to APF spokesperson Kalidas Dhoubhadi, the arrest was made based on special intelligence from the Armed Police Force Intelligence Bureau. The individuals taken into custody are 40-year-old Mohammad Akhtar Miya from Siraha Municipality–8 in Siraha and 42-year-old Saman Yadav from Kamala Municipality–8 in Dhanusha.

They were arrested from Darshan Namaste Inn Hotel while preparing for a drug deal. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the duo had been bringing drugs from various parts of Dhanusha to sell in Kathmandu for a long time.
