KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma’s program ‘Ainaa’ will begin its second season from Ashar 20 (July 4). Sharma will continue as the show’s host, focusing this season on issues related to development and construction.
Director Prakash Lamichhane said in a press release on Tuesday, “Where has Nepal reached on its journey of progress? Where has it lagged? What progress should have been made and why have certain problems occurred? Why have questions and complaints arisen? What are the possibilities and new hopes? With material collected from various parts of the country, we present the second season of ‘Ainaa.’”
Lamichhane also informed that Sharma, who hosted the first season, will continue in the same role for the second season. “As a public representative, General Secretary Sharma will listen to stakeholders’ questions, ask the government questions just as in the parliamentary rostrum, and lead discussions seeking solutions.”
Sharma, who has an interest in literature and music, is also known recently as a mountain climber. He has experience as an editor in print media as well as work in radio and television.
The first season of ‘Ainaa’ centered on social issues and transformation, addressing problems such as child labor, caste discrimination, domestic violence, public harassment, and acid attacks. It brought these societal pains into public debate and sought to raise awareness and urge all stakeholders to take action.
Director Lamichhane described ‘Ainaa’ as more than just a television show, but a strong voice for progress. “By identifying weaknesses, pushing for corrections, and committing to the work still left to be done, we believe the second season of ‘Ainaa’ will receive the same love and trust as the first.”
The program’s production, direction, research, reporting, writing, videography, editing, and management team includes Prakash Lamichhane, RK Dhital, Janak Paudyal, Bhanu Bokhim, Sobita Risal, Jeevan Timsina, Manika Khatiwada, Jyoti Bhattarai, Yubaraj Saud, Sushil Budhathoki, and Yubaraj Shrestha.
Lamichhane added that the show’s sponsors are Nepalese businessmen supporting local products, continuing the approach from the previous season. ‘Ainaa’ will be broadcast on Kantipur Television and OSR Reality.
