PARSA: Police have detained three individuals suspected of involvement in illegal money transfers through unofficial channels, known as hundi, totaling Rs 2.828 million.
According to Parsa Police Spokesperson Kishor Lamsal, Anil Barnaba from Pakaha Mainpur Rural Municipality-2 was arrested carrying Rs 947,000, while Binit Kumar Srivastav of Ardashnagar, Ward No. 3, Birgunj Metropolitan City, was found with Rs 1.581 million. Both are suspected participants in hundi transactions.
Additionally, Deepak Kumar Sonar, a permanent resident of Parwanipur Rural Municipality-4, Bara district, was apprehended with Rs 300,000.
The suspects are currently under investigation by the District Court under Section 125 (a) of the Criminal Code, 2074 BS, which prohibits money transfers via unofficial means like hundi.
