KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhala Nath Khanal has departed for China.
Khanal left for China on Monday to participate in the “World Civilization Dialogue” being held in Beijing at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Before attending the main event in Beijing, Khanal will spend three days visiting Henan Province, according to his personal secretary Krishna Bhattarai.
During his visit to Henan, former Prime Minister Khanal will observe various institutions and projects, including a modern agricultural research center, a digital technology company, a new energy technology factory, and model rural revitalization projects.
He is also scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at a special interaction program organized by the Henan Provincial Committee of the CPC.
Upon completing the Henan program, Khanal will arrive in the Chinese capital on Asar 25 (July 9). In Beijing, he is scheduled to address two key sessions on July 10.
He will be a keynote speaker in the third segment of the plenary session of the “Ministerial World Civilization Dialogue,” speaking on the theme “Joint Promotion of Shared Values of Humanity.”
During his stay in Beijing, leader Khanal will also hold courtesy meetings with senior Chinese officials, including Liu Jianchao, Head of the CPC’s International Department.
In addition, he will meet with former prime ministers, ministers, experts, and delegates from various countries participating in the conference.
Khanal is scheduled to return to Nepal on Asar 27 (July 11).
