Swiss Foreign Minister Cassis pays courtesy call on PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Swiss Federal Foreign Minister Ignazio Daniele Giovanni Cassis paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, focused on strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries and continuing cooperation in development sectors.

Minister Cassis assured Nepal of Switzerland’s continued support in areas including development, federalism strengthening, transitional justice, climate change, and disaster risk management.

Prime Minister Oli acknowledged that despite a long period of violent and unstable politics in Nepal, the current government formed through cooperation between the two major parties is working towards development, good governance, and protection of the democratic system, resulting in gradual improvements.

He thanked the Swiss government for its ongoing support for Nepal’s development. The meeting was also attended by Swiss Ambassador to Nepal Dr. Danielle Meuwly, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others.
