KANCHANPUR: A special campaign is to be launched in all nine local levels of Kanchanpur to demolish Chhaugoths. The District Administration Office has written to the local levels to demolish Chhaugoths.

“A campaign has been launched to eliminate the traditional practice of demolishing the Chhaugoth and implement it by taking necessary decisions from the municipality,” the letter signed by Chief District Officer Laxman Dhakal said. The letter requests that a campaign be launched to demolish the Chhaugoth to end the social practice.

After 28-year-old Kamala Damai, who was living in a hut during her menstruation in Krishnapur Municipality-1, Nigali Tole, died of a snakebite three days ago, the District Administration Office has directed to launch a special campaign to demolish the hut.
