KAVRE: The road has been blocked at three places on the BP Highway due to landslides and mudslides. Efforts are being made to open the road that was blocked last night from this morning, according to the District Police Office, Dhulikhel.

According to the office, a flash flood has blocked the road at Mamti in Roshi Rural Municipality-11 of Kavre. Similarly, the road was blocked last night due to the overflow of the Khahare River at Roshi-9 of the highway.

At the same time, the road was blocked due to the overflow of the Khahare River in Biruwadanda of the same ward, informed the office’s information officer Min Bahadur Ghale.

According to him, efforts are being made to open the road in coordination with local people’s representatives. On Asad 10, the road was also blocked in Biruwadanda of Mangaltar.

The road was blocked at various places in the Roshika area along the highway since Sunday evening after the river overflowed with rain. The road was cleared using JCVs overnight and traffic was restored in both directions on Monday morning.

The road had been blocked several times in the past at Pinthali on the same highway. The road was also blocked in Pinthali on Asad 16, Asad 25 and 26.
