KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a weather warning following heavy rainfall in Lumle and surrounding areas of Kaski district.
In a notice released this morning, the Department said the region is experiencing intense precipitation and cautioned that continued rainfall may lead to a sudden surge in small river flows and trigger landslides in steep or unstable areas.
A similar alert had earlier been issued for Bhujung and nearby settlements in Lamjung.
Meanwhile, at 5:30 am today, water levels at the Kankai and Mainachuli hydrological stations in Ilam crossed the alert mark.
Residents living in flood-prone and low-lying riverine areas have been urged to remain vigilant throughout the day as rainfall continues to intensify.
