KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) leader and MP Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has stated that his party does not intend to bring down the current government.

Speaking at a press event, he emphasized the need for political stability now that Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have formed the government.

Shahi criticized the government for failing to meet public expectations on development, economic growth, and good governance.

He accused the current administration under PM KP Sharma Oli of serving elite interests rather than the people.
He acknowledged ongoing political maneuvering, including international interference, and said public trust in political parties is declining.

Shahi also said left unity is impossible under Oli’s leadership and ruled out asking Nepali Congress to leave the coalition but offered support if needed.

Regarding future leadership, he said anything is possible in Nepali politics, including Dr. Shekhar Koirala becoming prime minister.
