KATHMANDU: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has declared she will not withdraw her claim to leadership within CPN-UML.

Speaking with reporters at her Bhangal residence, Bhandari affirmed she is moving forward and urged others not to fear her return to politics.

She also criticized attempts to intimidate her supporters.

Her announcement to contest for UML chair in the upcoming 11th General Convention has intensified internal rifts.

Party Chair KP Sharma Oli has firmly opposed her return, warning of factions trying to split the party and urging Bhandari to stay away from active politics.

The debate has spilled into ongoing Central Committee meetings, with divided opinions over her political comeback.
