HETAUDA:  Two Nepali Congress lawmakers, Maya Shrestha and Meena Parajuli, have withdrawn their signatures from the no-confidence motion against Bagmati Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama.

They claimed they were unaware of the proposal and that their names were included without consent. In a joint statement, they reaffirmed their support for Lama, stating the motion was filed without informing them.

Shrestha and Parajuli are proportional MPs from Chitwan and Kathmandu, respectively.

The motion, backed by 21 lawmakers led by Indra Bahadur Baniya, now has 19 supporters, while Lama retains support from 18 members in the 37-member provincial assembly.
