KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has emphasized the need to establish the party through active engagement in social organizations and institutions.
Speaking at a discussion program titled “Social Justice, Inclusion, and the Role of Social Institutions”, organized today by the Maoist Centre’s Social Welfare Department, Dahal highlighted the importance of positive intervention by the party in such institutions.
He stated that in the changed political context, it is essential for the party to participate in social institutions and play a constructive role.
Dahal remarked that although many Maoist leaders and cadres are involved in various social organizations, there is a tendency to remain anonymous, which must be changed.
“Wherever our comrades are involved, those institutions must excel,” he said, “and it is important that the party creates a unified understanding—from the grassroots to the top—on how to engage with social organizations.”
According to his personal secretariat, Dahal further added that the Maoist Centre’s concept of an independent and national economy is distinct from other parties, and this uniqueness must be clearly communicated at all levels to establish the party’s distinct identity.
