KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said a new uprising is necessary to defeat ongoing conspiracies by reactionary forces.
Speaking at a martyrs’ memorial program at Paris Danda, Prachanda announced that preparations for a fresh revolution are underway.
“We must defeat the reactionaries through a new uprising. This is my commitment, and I’m preparing for it,” Prachanda declared, adding that his political journey from the People’s War to the peace process has now reached a point where another struggle is inevitable.
He informed that the party will soon embark on a “Mid-Hill Campaign,” visiting homes of martyr families, sharing their concerns, and reconnecting with the working class.
Prachanda also recalled that during his premiership, his government had decided to declare People’s War Day a national holiday, but the decision was halted by a court order.
He accused reactionaries of not just political conspiracies but also attempting to erase revolutionary history.
