KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have jointly continued their boycott of the House of Representatives meeting amid the ongoing controversy over the visit visa case.

Since May 27, RSP and RPP have been demanding the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the visit visa irregularities.

On Tuesday, both parties once again boycotted the parliamentary session to press their demands.

After the meeting commenced, Speaker Devraj Ghimire granted RPP MP Deepak Bahadur Singh permission to speak. Singh stated that since the party’s demands on the visit visa issue have not been met, they are compelled to continue the boycott.

He added, “We are boycotting the parliament. Even the allowances due to us during the boycott, we have refused to accept.”

Earlier, at the start of the session, RSP MP Birajbhakta Shrestha was allowed to speak by the Speaker.

He emphasized that their movement would persist until a just resolution and concrete actions are taken regarding the issue. “We will not back down from this movement, and our protest continues,” he declared.

Following speeches by MPs of both parties, members of RPP and RSP walked out of the parliament hall.
