ANFA U-16 Youth League: NRT and Church Boys United secure victories

KATHMANDU: New Road Team (NRT) and Church Boys United Club registered wins in their respective matches in the ANFA U-16 Youth League held at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato on Tuesday.

NRT edged past Satdobato Youth Club with a narrow 1-0 victory, courtesy of Sugam Rana’s decisive goal in the 44th minute.

The win helped NRT accumulate 12 points from 11 matches, while Satdobato remains at the bottom of the table without any points from the same number of games.

In another match, Church Boys United stunned Himalayan Sherpa Club with a 2-0 win. Sushan Thapa Magar opened the scoring in the 49th minute, followed by a goal from Sunil Dangal in the 80th minute.

Himalayan Sherpa, who had held Church Boys goalless in the first half, were reduced to 10 men after Prajwal Pratap Kshetri was sent off with a second yellow card in the 62nd minute, derailing their comeback hopes.

With this victory, Church Boys have now secured 20 points from 11 matches, placing them in sixth position, while Himalayan Sherpa remain at 14 points from the same number of games.

Organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the U-16 Youth League features participation from 14 ‘A’ Division clubs.
