House of Representatives meeting to be held today; postponed by two hours

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is scheduled to take place today. The meeting has been postponed by two hours.

The meeting, which Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal had initially scheduled for Wednesday at 11:00 AM, has been rescheduled for 1:00 PM.

“Please be informed that the meeting of the House of Representatives, which was scheduled to be held on Wednesday, July 15 at 11:00 AM, has been rescheduled to 1:00 PM due to special reasons, as instructed by the Speaker,” stated General Secretary Padma Prasad Pandey.

In today’s meeting, Prime Minister Balen Shah has assigned Sobita Gautam, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the responsibility of presenting reports on his behalf.

According to the agenda, Minister Gautam is scheduled to present the 18th Annual Report of the National Human Rights Commission, the Annual Report of the National Information Commission, and the 7th Annual Report of the National Inclusive Commission.

Additionally, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to present a proposal to “consider the Bill to Amend and Repeal Some Nepal Acts Related to Finance, 2026.”

According to the Parliament Secretariat, the agenda also includes discussions and endorsements of international treaties.

Minister for Youth, Labor and Employment, Ramjee Yadav, will present a proposal seeking discussion and approval in the House regarding Protocol No. 29 of 2014 to the Forced Labour Convention, 1930, of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Similarly, there is an agenda to present a proposal for general discussion and endorsement of the ILO Labour Inspection Convention, 1947 (No. 81).
