KATHMANDU: Two young men lost their lives in a road accident early Friday morning after their scooter collided with a parked bus in Jadibuti, Kathmandu.
According to SP Apilraj Bohora of the District Police Range, the accident occurred at around 2:45 AM when a scooter (Lu 43 Pa 4938), heading toward Jadibuti from Koteshwor, rammed into the rear of an Araniko Yatayat bus (Ba 01 Kha 4243) that was stationed on the roadside in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.
The victims have been identified as 22-year-old Sirish Poudel, originally from Sunwal Municipality-1 in Nawalparasi and currently residing in Lokanthali, Bhaktapur, and 23-year-old Nitesh Nepal of Panchkhal Municipality-2, Kavre.
Both sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the Trauma Center, where Poudel died at 3:30 AM, followed by Nepal at 4:45 AM.
Police have taken both vehicles under custody. The bus driver, 25-year-old Subhash Tamang of Dolakha, currently residing in Kandaghari, has been detained for further investigation.
