KATHMANDU: The first friendly match between Nepal and Bangladesh ended in a goalless draw.
The game, held on Saturday at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor, saw both teams create a few chances but fail to score. With this result, Nepal extended its unbeaten run to four matches.
Previously, Nepal had played a 0–0 draw in November 2020, a 2–1 win in the Three Nations Cup in March 2021, and a 1–1 draw in the SAFF Championship in October 2021.
In September 2022, Nepal defeated Bangladesh 3–1, with Anjan Bista scoring a hat-trick. On Saturday, however, neither side managed to break the deadlock despite opportunities.
The two teams will meet again on Tuesday. If Tuesday’s match also ends in a draw after regular time, the winner will be decided through a penalty shootout.
