KATHMANDU: The Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) has instructed insurance companies to promptly and easily settle insurance claims arising from the difficult situation that emerged since September 8.
Director Kundan Sapkota said NIA has urged the life insurance companies to facilitate the insurance claims in view of the adverse circumstances and irreparable damage occurred in both public and private sectors, and considering the damage to the assets of the insured and their difficulties.
The Authority has also requested insurance companies to provide on a weekly basis the details of insurance claims for damages caused by the adverse situation.
There has been significant loss of life and property due to the demonstrations and vandalism on the 8th and 9th of this month.
