KATHMANDU: The prohibition and curfew imposed due to the Gen Z protests have been lifted this morning across the Kathmandu Valley and several other districts.
The Nepal Army had been issuing regular updates regarding the curfew and prohibition since September 9, 2025. However, today, no official updates were released by the army or local administrative bodies, confirming that the restrictions have ended.
With the lifting of the restrictions, daily life in the Kathmandu Valley is gradually returning to normal. Transportation services, markets, and other routine activities have resumed.
The curfew and prohibition had been enforced from September 8, 2025 onwards in the valley and various districts across the country as the Gen Z movement intensified.
With these restrictions now lifted, a sense of normalcy is returning to the affected areas.
