Life in Chitwan returning to normal

CHITWAN: Educational institutions including schools and colleges are resuming their regular classes from today.

They had remained closed since September 9 following the Gen-Z movement. On Saturday, the District Administration Office issued a notice urging all academic institutions in the district to resume teaching and learning activities.

The notice issued by Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal has also urged transport entrepreneurs to resume and long and short distance public transportation service as life in the district is returning to normal.

All public offices have also been instructed to resume services as much as possible from today. Furthermore, the offices that are unable to provide their regular service have been urged to communicate and notify the service recipients accordingly.

Many office employees are cleaning up the offices that have been vandalized and set on fire. The District Police Office will be coordinated for the purpose of additional human resources required for the same.

The Nepal Electricity Authority will work to reinstall electricity supply and the Drinking Water Office will ensure the supply of drinking water.

A meeting of the heads of offices took a decision towards this end, according to a notice issued by Aryal. All offices have been instructed to immediately determine and document the details of the damage in coordination with the committee formed to assess the damage caused by vandalism and arson in wake of the Gen-Z protests.
