KATHMANDU: The diversion built along the BP Highway in Mangaltar, Kavre, has been swept away by the Roshi River.

The diversion had been constructed last year after floods damaged the main road, allowing traffic to continue along the route.

However, continuous rainfall has caused the river to erode the temporary structure.

In light of the risks posed by rising water levels, vehicular movement along the BP Highway has been suspended since early Saturday morning.

Vehicles traveling on the route have been held at Kavre Bhanjyang, Bhakundebesi, and Sindhuli Khurkot until further notice.
