KATHMANDU: The Department of Prison Management has released details of prisoners who escaped during the Gen Z Movement.
According to the department, of those who fled from various prisons across the country during the protest on September 9, 9,008 have so far been returned to custody.
However, the data shows that 5,547 prisoners remain at large. During the Gen Z Movement, numerous prisons across the country experienced violent incidents and chaotic activities.
On that occasion, hundreds of inmates managed to escape. The department stated that efforts to recapture the remaining prisoners have been intensified, and international cooperation is also underway.
