KATHMANDU: The case against former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, arrested over allegations of pressuring airport customs to release gold hidden in an electronic cigarette, is continuing at the Kathmandu District Court.

Mahara’s statement in the prosecution registered at the court was completed today.

A hearing on his pre-trial detention petition is scheduled for tomorrow.

In his statement, Mahara denied any involvement in the gold smuggling case.
