25 injured in separate road accidents across Tanahun

DAMAULI: At least 25 people were injured in eight separate road accidents that occurred in various parts of Tanahun district on the day of Bhai Tika, police said.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the most serious incident took place along the Prithvi Highway at Myagde Rural Municipality–1, Gunadi, where a bus (Ga 1 Kha 9301) heading to Damauli from Tharpu met with an accident, leaving 12 people injured.

Among the injured are Ramesh Acharya (40) of Pokhara-32, Ranbahadur Thapa (67), Motibahadur Thapa, Pashupatinath Ghimire (90), Asmita Shahi (22), Padambahadur Darlami (69), Narbahadur Makim (50), Rishiram Thapa (52), Kanchan Thapa (15), Deubadur Thapa (46), Sumitra Thapa (27), and Suryakala Acharya (50) of Bharatpur.

All of them are undergoing treatment at Provincial Hospital, Damauli. In another incident at Byas Municipality–12, Chhirkane, one person was injured when a motorcycle (Ga 5 Pa 7907) traveling from Dumre to Damauli lost control.

The injured, Ashish Gurung (33) of Aanbukhaireni-4, was taken to hospital for treatment. Two people were injured at Shuklagandaki Municipality–5, Belchautara, when two motorcycles — Ba Pra 02–057 Pa 2692 and Ga 9 Pa 7918 — collided head-on. The injured were identified as Sunil Shrestha (28) and Kamal Shrestha (28) from Sindhupalchok’s Barhabise-6.

They are being treated at the GP Koirala Respiratory Treatment Center. At Aanbukhaireni–1, Baradi, a scooter (Ga 21 Pa 3076) from Dumre hit a roadside pole, injuring Rajkumar Darai (26) and Sukmaya Darai (60) of Gorkha Municipality–4.

Similarly, in Shuklagandaki–4, Dulegauda, two pedestrians — Apsara Shrestha (30) and Samir Shrestha (11) of Kawase — were injured after being hit by a car (Ga 2 Cha 7971) traveling from Pokhara to Damauli.

At Aanbukhaireni–1, Eklephant, Prem Pariyar (35) was injured after being hit by a motorcycle (Ba Pra 02–058 Pa 2918) coming from Dumre.

In Bhimad Municipality–5, Rishingpatan, a motorcycle (Ga 8 Pa 170) crashed on an inner road, injuring Amrit Pariyar (25).

Likewise, in Bandipur–1, Piple, a scooter (Ma Pra 03–040 Pa 1641) skidded off the road, injuring Suresh Kumar Rai (34) and Sonam Thapa (30) of the same area.

Police said all the injured are receiving treatment at various hospitals, and investigations are ongoing into the causes of the accidents.
